KIds, Kids, Kids, Gotta love them...

Kids are great.
My child is great.
My neighbors children, they are great too.
You can put them all in the same room until about age 4 or 5 things are great...all the kids get along and life is great
Then...
They get personalities, a little older and things aren't so great...not in the getting along department that is.
It would seem that it is a huge mystery. Huge. Massive. Big, Big, Mystery!
They are all fighting and not getting along. You ask why...
The reply...
"I don't know" and we let that fly. (we being the adults a.k.a. parents)
Now if it is physical or loud and nasty, we don't let it fly...
But, I do love the answer "I don't know".
As an adult, just think what and how we could use this accepted answer to our advantage.
Question: Why didn't you come to work today? Answer: I don't know.
Question: Why didn't you take me out like you said you would? Answer: I don't know.
Just let your imagination go on how these 3 words could change your life (providing it really was an acceptable answer.)
You could do wonderful things just for the heck of it. Why? I don't know.
You could do not so wonderful things (Nothing really bad now) and not go to jail. Why? I don't know.
Well, ok, that may work for some kids sometimes. But, I think that they do indeed know and they just aren't wanting to share this information for a sole purpose. They are gonna get in trouble. What a gimmick and we fall for it over and over.
Then there are the "not my child" Mom's that don't think that their child's halo has a ding or 20 in it. I know my daughters halo is damaged.
I do know why I am writing this.
The last few days I have been handed so many "I don't know's" about things that I do know that the answer is known. I want the truth. What a refreshing way to think about it.
Ask a kid why and get the truth. What a novel thought. I guess that I am not going to hold my breath though. I do hope that it happens sooner than later.
God help me when she becomes a teenager.
Why did I write all this...
You guessed it. "I don't know..."
Til next time,
Just me
