It's not like "let it snow, let it snow..." That is a happy thing.
When it is raining. We complain in case we may have to run to the mailbox or what ever the case may be. I do.
Even if we might need the rain desperately.
Why can't it rain while we are sleeping. That would be OK.
Rain for me is a especially a bad thing as I live in the clay pit of NC. With 2 very large, large dogs that dwell in that pit, when it rains (and the fact that no matter how hard I try and what I say, they will not wipe their paws at the door.) I get a major mess.
I get clay everywhere. I mean everywhere.
Walls, floor (of course), when they do the doggy shake, (I am 5'9" and I have found splatter above my head.). Plus they bump the walls.
Then there is the "after effect". The clay dries. No matter how much I vacuum. And I have a Dyson. I get "clay dust". I can dust today. Tomorrow, you wouldn't know it. This dust gets in places that you didn't know dust could get. And it isn't like normal dust. You need a special tool or special cleaner to remove it and I haven't found that tool or cleaner to get it off yet. I am still searching. Any suggestions are welcome.
You may be saying to yourself, "you brought it on yourself."
Your right. I did. Now I never had encountered NC clay in my life. You have to give me that one. So, you may ask yourself, "why don't you give the dogs to a good home?" Well, if you are like me, that would be asking me to give one of my children away.
I can say I will never have big dogs again. No I can't. I love big dogs.
The truth is that I am going to paint in semi-gloss paint to make it easier to wipe. I am trying to make solutions to the problem. It isn't the dogs fault. Sure, you see the occasional cat that uses the toilet. But, never the dog that wipes it's feet at the door. If you do, please send me the link. I would love to see that one.
But, I love them. I will put up with it.
They give me love like no dogs I have ever had in my life and I wouldn't change them at all. I would change the clay. Maybe if the grass had a chance to grow it would have been OK. But, it didn't and that is going to "What if" land and we just don't go there.
So, on that note...
Until next time...
Just me
